I was very sorry to learn about Steve's deteriorating health and consequent early death. I worked with Steve for three and a half years when I was transport minister, between 2010 and 2013. I always liked Steve and valued his input. I particularly remember working with him on Green Light for Light Rail, which in effect we wrote together.
