During my first year in the DfT and in Local Transport, I always remember Steve and hearing him on the phone, resolving some crisis on the highway network. I used to wonder how he manages to do all that and still remain positive with his colleagues! He was a character in Local Transport and one that made it feel more friendly and welcoming to a new starter like me. Rest in peace Steve. Christina S.
