The words legend and legacy keep cropping up when people think about Steve and they couldn't apply to a better bloke. If there was a model of a public servant it was Steve who deserves all the accolades he is getting. He was a great colleague and friend. I managed Steve many years ago when he was an Admin Officer and it was clear then that he was due a promotion (or a few). Ever since then Steve was always great for a chat, some advice or just a good moan over a pint or a lunch (that's if you could find him - he was always busy). I'll certainly miss having him around.
