I have had the absolute pleasure, privilege and honour to work with Steve on various objects but always in the same open plan office for nearly 10 years during my time in local transport economics. The perfect model of a civil servant Steve was humble, humorous, approachable and above all extremely determined and hard working. I cannot believe that he would be there anymore looking after the health of our local roads. I can literally hear him calling up various local authorities enquiring on the local salt stocks before a cold snap was forecast to hit some part of the UK. Steve - you will be missed sincerely - RIP - my thoughts and deepest condolences for your family.
