I was lucky enough to work with Steve when I was an Assistant Private Secretary to the Roads Minister at DfT. Steve was polite, friendly, knowledgeable, a pleasure to work with, extraordinarily good at what he did, and all round just a lovely man. I hope his family know just how brilliantly well liked he was, and just what a fantastic and valued colleague he was.
