I first worked with Steve on the Transport Plan 2000 back in the John Prescott days and our paths again crossed when I took on the role as DfT Area Lead for the SW 4 or 5 years ago. We instantly recognised each other and had the odd chuckle about the year that was 1999! Steve was very well known and incredibly well respected by external local stakeholders across the SW. It will come as a great shock to many when they learn of Steve's passing. Steve leaves a massive gap which will be impossible to fill. Rest easy Steve.
