One of things that I was looking forward to when coming out of lockdown was to see Steve Berry. He was always great to catch up with. So the personal message is that I found him funny, refreshing, original, honest, and good company, really good company. On the professional level clearly his contribution to the transport sector was remarkable, and in this way he too was remarkable. Unassuming, but smart, with the ability to see round problems - not many people can do that. If only he had more time, that is the real sadness . I remember speaking to him at the start of the year. He was still generous, interested, listened, full of ideas. And still with a clear eye on how to improve how transport works for people. Quite remarkable really. Steve, you will be massively missed.
