This is such sad news. Steve was just a diamond - a huge work ethic - incomparable knowledge of his field - able to engage with anyone - and really great fun. I enjoyed working with him immensely and have great memories of times with him both within GMH and on trips out to engage with local authorities. He will be hugely missed within DfT. My thoughts are with his family at this sad time. John C
